Indonesian cuisine

Do you love exploring the world through food?

For me, as a devoted foodie, one of the most delightful ways to dive into a new culture is by savouring its local cuisine. On a recent trip to Indonesia, I seized every chance to immerse myself in its vibrant flavours—and yes, my scale had a lot to say about it once I got home!

From the juiciest, velvety mangos that felt like sunshine on my palate to the freshest fish and seafood bursting with the taste of the ocean—every bite was unforgettable. A refreshing young coconut, brimming with sweet water and tender flesh, offered the perfect tropical pause of comfort. Locally grown red rice added a unique nutty charm to meals, while dried and seasoned mushrooms (so irresistible, I brought some home) showcased the country’s earthy richness.

What moved me most was discovering meals lovingly prepared for orphans, beautifully and sustainably packaged—each one a testament to the care and community spirit woven into Indonesian food culture.

Every dish, every flavour, spoke of the heart and soul of the people who created it. And as I relive these moments, I feel incredibly grateful.
