Remedy against the cold

It has been one of those days … I am tired, cold and hungry…
When opening my fridge I feel gratitude for what I find: a bright orange pumpkin, some smoked bacon and a bunch of sage. I also remember a can of cannellini beans in my pantry. Within a couple of minutes I chop the pumpkin into smallish cubes, which I roast with the smoked bacon and a couple of cloves of garlic cut into slices. Next I add just enough water to cover the pumpkin, add some bouillon, the beans, a peperoncini, as well as the sage cut into fine stripes. After about 20 minutes of simmering I enjoy a tasty and warming soup.
