Honoring Women In Food – my journey through cooking and community

Food has always been more than just nourishment for me: it’s a way to connect, to celebrate traditions, and to tell stories.
I’m Antonetta, the heart and soul behind the Cibo & Vino Cookbook Club, where I bring people together around the table to share meals inspired by cookbooks, heritage, and seasonal ingredients.
My pop-up dinners started as a passion project —an extension of my love for cooking, my curiosity for culinary traditions, and my belief that food is best enjoyed in good company. They continue to be a deeply fulfilling part of my journey, allowing me to create meaningful experiences around the table.
One of the challenges I’ve faced is creating something truly unique in a world where food experiences are abundant. But what makes Cibo & Vino special is the combination of storytelling, seasonality, and the conviviality of a shared table. I take pride in curating menus that celebrate ingredients with care, often drawing inspiration from cookbooks and Slow Food principles.
I am influenced by many different factors — my Swiss and Italian roots, my time at Ballymaloe Cookery School, and my lifelong admiration for home cooks and cookbook authors who make food approachable, meaningful, and delicious.
I’d love to hear from other #womeninfood — what has shaped your culinary journey? Let’s celebrate the stories, flavours, and experiences that bring us together!
